At Consigli Construction Environmental Graphics Energize Employees
Just over two years ago, Greg Burns, President of Consigli Construction NY, brought a bright idea to Ashworth Creative. He had collected quotations from both well-known and little known individuals and asked us to use them to create environmental graphics to inspire and engage the personnel at Consigli Construction’s offices in Dutchess County, NY.
Ashworth worked closely with Burns to select additional quotations, images of the authors, color schemes and printing materials. Banners printed on vinyl mesh were the preferred medium and Consigli Self-perform Craftsmen created pole frameworks for the banners.
Initially 18 banners were designed and executed with a number of banners being placed overnight within Consigli offices so they first appeared the day after the company’s annual meeting. The banners came as a complete surprise to staff. They are rotated regularly and receive a very positive response. Greg Burns commented, “We change them often enough that our people, and our visitors, pay attention to the content and some of the new concepts conveyed in the banners. We try to stay fresh and provocative while remaining positive.”
Recently, Consigli commissioned another set of quotation banners and the staff is now exposed to a new set of intriguing quotations and unique ways of thinking in spaces around Consigli’s bustling offices.
Environmental Graphics are design made large and 3-D. Isaac Ashworth, Creative Director at Ashworth Creative, and a passionate designer down to his boots, said, “I believe that environmental graphics create experiences that connect people to place, and prompt a different level of thinking.”
